Primary School
Welcome to the exciting world of learning in Primary School.
We are a caring and passionate community of learners with a population of students and staff from over 50 different nationalities. At Ambrit, we benefit from our diversity and feel proud that the meeting of cultures, ideas, and personal experiences all help to enrich the learning experience of our students.
The primary grades follow the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB). This is a child-centred, inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning that frames the journey to becoming an international-minded citizen.
We strongly believe that our programme enables students to become informed citizens who are connected to and compassionate about the world they live in.
Through inquiry-based learning experiences, our students develop important critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that best prepare them for a changing future. Through the skilled facilitation of our teachers, each student is encouraged to take ownership of their learning. By exploring particular areas of personal interest when learning different concepts and subject matter our students develop leadership skills, responsibility, and independence as self-directed learners.
Learning in our classes is diverse and interactive;
students get to work through whole-class instruction, small groups, pairs and collaborative grouping that is sometimes distributed across different classes and grades. All these experiences create a positive and engaging learning experience for our young learners. All students are involved in Music, Art, Physical Education, Library and Italian lessons. Technology is integrated as a tool into our teaching and learning and used in meaningful ways to enhance the curriculum.
We have a team of educators consisting of a Student Support Services department offering additional learning support, EAL (English as an additional language) and counselling services. These areas of additional support serve to enable our students to function and thrive in the classroom.
Ambrit students are happy and excited to come to school every day. They are motivated to learn, feel respected and appreciate belonging to such a diverse and supportive community.
We hope you will choose Ambrit for your child’s educational experience.
