Library: Meet the Staff

Amy and Jill
Mrs. Ronning and Mrs. Wiebe

Librarian Amy Ronning came to Ambrit from International School Bangkok (ISB) in Thailand, one of many stops on her global journey.  She has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State.  Later in Boston Mrs. Ronning got her master's degree in Library Science from Simmons College and coupled that with a teaching certificate from The College of New Jersey in 2004.  At Ambrit she started as a Library Mum, but upon the retirement of long-time Ambrit librarian, Carole Doyle, Mrs. Ronning stepped into the lead position.  Born in Washington State, she has lived in Norway and speaks the language fluently.  Before moving to Rome in 2005 with her husband and two children, Amy lived in Asia for eleven years.

Library Assistant Jill Gohdes Wiebe came to Ambrit from the Montgomery County Public School System in the state of Maryland, USA, where she had lived for 14 years.  Although her undergraduate degree was in Economics (from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota), she had been the Media Assistant at Brookhaven Elementary School in Rockville for six years before coming to Rome in January of 2007.  Born in California, Mrs. Wiebe grew up in Wisconsin and will always be a Green Bay Packers fan.  She lives in Rome with her husband and has two children who are in the United States.

To help our library run smoothly, we are assisted by Sylvia Davies and this year's volunteer Library Mums: Kathryn Hegwood, Savita Saran, Jennifer Walbridge, Yuko Kaiho, Mizuho Hagiwara, Flavia Campi, Francesca Lucci, and Wendy Boly.
