Ambrit Autumn Barbecue

Autumn Barbecue, Saturday, October 12th, SAVE THE DATE!

Mark your calendars, and bring your entire family for a day of relaxing fun with old friends and new Ambrit families. The annual autumn BBQ reunites our community after summer and has it all: an international buffet and barbecue, face-painting, live music, a bouncy castle, the English language book fair, the Kapla extravaganza, ice cream, the Hummustown food bar, the Big Draw 2019, sports tournaments…

Student, parent and staff volunteers as always are needed to run the show. Volunteer links and more info will follow next week. Can’t wait to see you there!

New Bus Dismissal Procedure

Starting this Monday, September 30, we will be trialling a new bus dismissal procedure. Students will be boarding from behind the school in order to decrease congestion at dismissal time and increase both safety and efficiency. During rainy days we will revert to the current bus dismissal procedure.

New Spaces

This year our EAL and LS students have a new workspace on the first floor. The three-room space allows for teacher planning and more focussed small group activities.

In addition this year we will be using the Dome for some of our indoor PHE activities. This allows us not only to give our students more space for physical activities, but also provides increased opportunities for indoor and rainy day sports.

Upcoming Field Trips

Arteaparte
As every year, our Grade 4 students will go to Arteaparte in Umbria. Arteaparte is a wonderful three day, two-night experience that focuses on art, music, and nature. Set in the beautiful Umbrian countryside, the children spend their days absorbed in music and art workshops calling upon their creative energy. The children also explore the countryside, going on a long walk and looking for wildlife along a quiet stream.

Romeo and Juliet
On October 10th, grade 7 and 8 students will go to the Globe theatre near Villa Borghese to watch Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The representation is staged by The Bedouin Shakespeare Company of London in collaboration with the Globe Theatre in Rome for the fifth consecutive year.

Padova Sports Trip
Our students will participate for the first time this year in a one-day Sports’ tournament hosted by the English International School in Padua. We will compete against seven other international schools from the north of Italy and Austria.
This year we will send a Boys’ football team and we hope to send boys’ and girls’ basketball and volleyball teams in the future!

Field Trip Permission Form

Please complete the following Ambrit General Field Trip Permission Form to authorize your child to participate in all non-overnight field trips that are part of our educational program. This would include walks in the Ambrit neighborhood or a bus trip to a museum in the city center.
