- Dear Parents,
-
- We are pleased to welcome you and your child to our
Kindergarten Class at Ambrit. We are planning a program full of
activities focusing on readiness skills for reading, writing, and
mathematics. Physical education, art, music, movement, and library
time are included.
-
- Please send in these supplies to help us prepare for the
school year:
- 2 boxes of tissues (fazzoletti)
- 1 package of wet wipes (salvettine detergenti bimbo)
- 1 change of clothing, including socks and underpants, all
clearly labelled with his/her name to be kept at school
- I backpack LARGE enough to hold the message folder, art work,
etc. I plastic art smock, available at IKEA, for Art class and
painting activities
-
- Please Note: Although smocks are worn, clothing is still
subject to getting dirty throughout the course of our daily
activities.
-
- School Hours
- The school day will begin at 8:45 and will end at 15:30. lf
your child arrives at school before 8:45, there will be a teacher
on duty. It is very important that your child is dropped off and
picked up on time to reduce anxieties and ensure an equal amount
of garden time. If late, please inform Ms. Gigi if your child will
be riding the bus and having lunch. Any bus changes need to be on
a written request form provided by the school.
-
- Food
- The school provides a hot lunch for those children who have
signed up for the school lunch program. For those of you who are
not in the school lunch program, please send a nutritious lunch
that can be independently opened or unwrapped (i.e. sandwiches,
pre-cut fruits, etc.). The lunch box and school bag should be
clearly marked with your child's name. Please do not send fizzy
drinks, glass bottles, or candy. May we remind you that food
cannot be reheated by the kitchen staff. A snack a provided by the
school during the morning so you do not need to provide one from
home. lf you wish to celebrate a birthday at school you may send
in a cake or snack to be shared in the classroom. Please inform us
in advance.
-
- Sickness
- Please inform Nurse Gigi and your classroom teacher if your
child has any allergies as soon as possible to further ensure your
child's safety.
- Do not send in medicines of any kind. lf your child is not
well enough to play outside, please keep him/her at home as we
cannot supervise the classroom at garden time and would like to
avoid others becoming ill.
-
- Clothing
- Please put your child's name on every item especially
backpack, jackets sweaters and other items, which can be easily
misplaced. Children should wear clothes that they can manage by
themselves especially during bathroom use (Le. elastic waistbands,
easy fasteners, Velcro). At the beginning of the year, we
encourage children to wear shoes with Velcro straps to foster
independence. The days your child has Physical Education we ask
that your child wear running shoes. On rainy days, children may
wear rubber boots but should bring a change of shoes far indoors.
-
- Toys
- Please ensure that your child does NOT bring in toys from
home. Many times toys can cause classroom disruption or get lost
or broken.
-
- Contact
- If you need to speak to us personally, you may leave a message
in the office and we will call you back as soon as it is possible.
Notes can be exchanged through the message folder provided by the
school. lf you would like your child to travel on a different bus
or leave with someone other than the person who usually picks them
up, please notify us in writing or call the office.
-
- Thank you far your co-operation.
-
- Yours Sincerely,
-
- Philippa Donnelly, Jennifer Walters & Victoria Lear
